The Pursuit of Happyness [2006]
Based on a true story, this phenomenal movie established Will Smith as a serious actor, capable of performing more demanding roles.
Following the life of Chris Gardner, and his struggle to survive in this cruel world with his son it perpetuates our own personal pursuit of happiness. Filled with heart breaking moments that will bring tears to your eyes. With almost hopeful music this movie excels at almost every category, but two most important elements are the story and the performance of Will, especially in the last scene, holy fuck he was good. Very profound movie that needs to be seen several times in order to fully understand its complexity. I am interested how will you see it as a whole, when it all sums up it is very questionable to say that it represents a social critic of a society, I think it rather instills some controversial thoughts.
