Layer Cake [2004]
I think that English crime flicks developed a cult following, especially after the work of Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch., RocknRolla),
although the whole thing has much deeper roots(The Long Good Friday 1980). Layer Cake is also a English crime flick, and if you have seen at least one of these movies you know what to expect. An unknown cocaine dealer is very successful at his work. He is very careful about everything, planning each and every action. But he will soon find himself knee deep in crap as everything starts to go to hell. Crazy Serbian assassins, drug deals gone wrong, colorful characters and much more created a very good blend of action and intense situations. Daniel Craig was a perfect pick for the role of an unknown dealer(we never learn his name) and the rest of the cast was good too. Enjoy…
