This movie was very disappointing, I was expecting more of gaming vibe from a movie called gamer. I think that the screenplay and the whole story was written by someone with no experience in gaming, or a casual gamer. I guess that was the target audience. The society part of the movie was really good and i liked it, if they used it more of it in the script the movie would be awesome, and of course the action sequences could resemble more of Call Of Duty series or something else, this way they were going for that console vibe. In the future video game players control real persons in the game called Slayers. But one man must break the chains and set himself free with the help of his human controller. Again, not the best flick, but still, good enough to kill an hour and a half… Enjoy.

PS If you have seen the following movies you might recognize their ideas and concepts in this one: The Matrix, Rollerball, The Condemned

Directors: Mark Neveldine, Brian Taylor

Cast: Gerard Butler, Amber Valletta, Michael C. Hall, Kyra Sedgwick, Logan Lerman

Rating: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆

Fun Stuff: The opening montage of time-lapse shots and other scenes of the world where we see ads for Kable and/or graffiti of Ken Castle overlaid on buildings or walls are mostly taken from Ron Fricke’s wordless film Baraka (1992), for example, the shots of the Giza Pyramids, India, homeless man sleeping under a bridge among others.
