When I saw the title of this flick it reminded me of a similar themed movie from 1996 Extreme Measures, but instead of a dumb-ass remake
(did anyone said Death At The Funeral), we got a milking drama with sappy theme based on a true story. The director and producers tried to portray the life of John Crowley and his family struggling with two children terminally ill with Pompe Disease but they did it so it is not too gross to watch, fearing public reaction to some fucked up scenes. I did a little research and found pictures of actual Crowley family and I must say that all the characters look very different from the ones in the movie. Also there are a lot of Popme disease organization protesting the way that the life of the Crowley family depicted. If you like some tear jerkers this movie might do it, it looks like some sappy tv movie about people dying slowly. Anywhoo, John Crowley has two sick children that will die if the cure is not found soon. His only hope is the eccentric professor Robert Stonehill, that is close to the solution but lacks money for the realization. With joined forces they just might make it… Oh yeah, and you get to see Indiana Jones and the Mummy guy in one flick. Enjoy…
