Another great movie coming from Europe, this time France. It is very disturbing and I do not mean disturbing
because something disgusting and sick was shown but disturbing because it is so realistic and believable. Excellent directing and perfect casting, especially for the role of Malik El Djebena in combination with awesome script really realistically portrayed life in prison and life of crime. Although the ending could have been a bit better this movie was interesting from the beginning `till the end, and I especially was impacted by the first 30 minutes of the movie and the decisions that Malik had to made.
So, an uneducated young man gets six years in prison that he will have to survive. Because of his Arabic and Muslim origins he will be a target for everybody in there. Trying to survive, and trying to make money we will witness the development of Malik from nobody to someone who means something. With these several layers of story and conflicted emotions the movie offers superb atmosphere, and after its end it urges the viewer to recommend it to friends. Excellent movie, although it is a bit longer it is worth every second. Enjoy.
