Just perfect. That sums up this movie pretty good. Joaquin Phoenix plays mister John R. Cash, thought his tough life, starting with his childhood and up to his death. Robert Patrick plays Johnny’s strict father, whose respect he`s been trying to win thought his life. Featuring original John R. Cash soundtrack, music in this movie is great; I did not even know that he is that good. Alcohol, music, drugs, fucked up love, and everything else that makes a star is here, and it’s put together perfectly. Enjoy.

Fun Stuff: Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon performed all of the songs themselves, without being dubbed. They also learned to play their instruments (guitar and auto-harp, respectively) from scratch. The scene where Johnny Cash pulls the sink off the wall was not scripted. Joaquin Phoenix actually pulled it off the wall.
