Another movie that belongs to the new wave of Australian horror movies. Using the classical scenes of the Outback, wolf creekand some Australian stereotypes, this movie somewhat resembles American slasher movies by its premise. Although it says that this movie is based on true events, as always, this should be taken with caution. Actually it is a mix of several true stories, but I guess that the most influential is one of the killer Ivan Milat. He killed several campers in a similar way, and later on, was arrested. Back to the movie, three friends decide to drive to their towns across the Australian Outback. During this drive they will stop to look at a meteor crater, where they will encounter seemingly friendly bushman that will offer his help when their car brakes down. You know what follows. With some unusual twists, good gore and great directing, this movie turned out pretty well. I especially enjoyed in Mad Max style car chases. Enjoy.

Director: Greg Mclean

Cast: John Jarratt, Cassandra Magrath, Kestie Morassi, Nathan Phillips, Geoff Revell

Rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆

Fun Stuff: The crater in the film is really in Western Australia, but it is spelled “Wolfe Creek” in reality.
