Highwaymen is a thriller that uses very strange premise of a serial hit and run killer. The acting is decent, although I did not quite get way James Caviezel must be so serious and weird. As his girl, Rhona Mitra is more than convincing, and beautiful I might add. So James`s wife dies at car of a killer, and he gets obsessed with killing the demented driver who killed his wife. And Rhona suffered almost the same fate, now they join forces to get the killer and in that pursuit a almost funny cop will join them.

There are some really brutal car crashes, and i like that there are no fancy effects or CGI just plain old crashes. The killer is actually handicapped, and he is wrapped in metal and braces, so he kind of looks even more disturbing and strange. Although the script is a bit cheesy, this movie can keep your attention and pretty much keep you interested up until the end. Using the elements from Mad Max and The Hitcher it creates a certain atmosphere that makes it very watchable. Enjoy.
