Do not let the year 1948 fool you, this movie is as controversial and disturbing as any today.
Directed by legendary Alfred Hitchcock, this masterpiece of suspense still manages to be interesting after half of century. The most disturbing fact is the story itself, two very wealthy and intelligent young man commit murder for murder sake. They did it just to see how would they feel, they say, but underlining is much more blurrier. Is killing someone that you consider inferior justified, who will determine these rules and is it really worth it?
Toying with these intense subjects is only magnified by the decision of two man to host a party, where would guests, unknowingly, eat of the coffin with a dead body. Pretty fucked up, even by today`s standards, isn`t it? There is a hint of homosexuality and vanity, there are so many levels that you will be astonished. Enjoy this great movie.
