Airheads Comedy1 CommentSpeaking about radio stations and rock and metal, if you are interested you gotta check out this 1993 flick. The other movie is The Boat That Rocked AKA Pirate Radio. There are a few movies that I saw when I was really young and they really changed me as a person. They generated this positive buzz that resonated with me in such a way that I wanted to create Airheads in my own life. Of course, since I was just a kid and also a fledgling metalhead, these were all delusions, complexes and ego-trips, but that doesn’t change the fact that this movie is cool. That being said, they could have done so much more with these characters, but you have to remember that these are the nineties and this a comedy. It’s amazing that they even pulled this off. Sure, there were a tone of missed jokes about metal, fans and all the other stuff, but this will just do. A lot of young actors that are now acclaimed stars appear in it.So, Chazz Darveyand his two friends are the Lone Rangers, a rock/metal band that is trying to get a record deal. But as faith would have it, they will accidentally capture a radio station. And then party. So you got even a hostage/negotiator situation in this movie, lol. Great actors and comedians in this flick contributed to its cult status, even Adam Sandler was funny, I guess that’s because he got the character right. Lots of great music, and even appearance by White Zombie plus good old fashioned jokes are ingredients for a great movie. Enjoy in this masterpiece. Finally, a personal commendation to whomever didn’t cast John Cusack instead of Brandan. Sheesh…Director: Michael LehmannCast: Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Judd Nelson, Joe Mantegna, Michael McKeanFun Facts: Rob Zombie (Robert Cummings), Phil ‘Philo’ Buerstatte, Sean Yseult, and Jay Yuenger are members of the metal band, White Zombie.Rating: IMDb Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109068/ One Response SorrowScavenger September 18, 2009 I can’t belive it! ^^ As a kid I used to watch this film every weekend for about 3 months on particular TV station in my country ’cause they didn’t had anything better to play 😀 Great movie by the way, especially if you’re a metalhead as I’m.
