Taking a bit different route with horror movies, Tucker And Dale Vs Evil takes the classical premise of murderous hillbillies and spins it around. This could not have been done without great actors in lead roles and although I never liked Tyler Labine, I must admit that he was really great. Of course, Alan Tudyk I loved as soon as I saw Death at a Funeral and his later works were good too. With a young and relatively unexperienced director and writer, this movie turned out almost perfect, although it seems that they used that premise too much (reversal of the roles). It would be nice if they incorporated some other ideas, as long as they’re creating something original and entertaining as this.  The atmosphere of the movie resembles the modern British horror comedies (either with or without Zombies). The effects were raw and brutal, adding more to the quality and entertainment value, well, at least for some of the viewers. And besides that, Tucker and Dale are such lovable characters that after the movie was over I immediately started thinking what their next adventure could be…

Tucker and Dale are simple, country folk, enjoying beer and music like anybody else. They have simple dreams and desires and one of them is a nice cabin by the lake, so that they can get drunk and enjoy their days there. Of course they like ladies, but shy and a bit low on self-esteem they have trouble hooking up with members of the opposite sex. When a bunch of college kids winds up in their vicinity, hoping to have a nice weekend, a series of unfortunate events will follow, and we will see that maybe not all hillbillies have murderous intentions. That’s, however, not what the college kids think, brought up on Texas Chainsaw movies, and prejudices they will automatically assume that the lovable duo is out to kill them, and that just might cost them their lives…
