2012 Movies so bad that they are good2012 is a really bad movie, I mean the visual effects are truly stunning and I think that they will blow away any viewer, but same thing cannot be said about the story. In a so called race to the bottom of the brain stem, Emmerich decided to script the movie into an emotionally-visual cattle-prodding experience. You can break down each segment of the movie into smaller parts that will reveal to you what they were going for. Never in a movie there have been so many death scenes that looked really funny. I mean just take the destruction of any landmark and you know that probably thousands of people just died, however they expect you to gasp in awe of the glorious CGI scenes. Impossible getaways and coincidences will make you go “come on…” and the main storyline will make you go “of course he/she is”, provoking a whole flurry of emotional responses. With over 1000 user reviews on IMDb, 2012 is a movie that’s truly so bad it’s good, but this also goes for the rest of the population, not just us.One dimensional characters, plot and its development are highly predictable, and of course huge plot holes are present about the true reactions of people in some situations. If you do not like this sort of thing, like people doing something or saying something that they would not in real world, you will be annoyed. But this is a very light flick, so try to concentrate on the effects and try to disregard the story. It is kind of sad, but still what to do… At least you can make fun of the lame and clichéd events in the flick so get some beer and get ready to thrash the movie, that way the enjoyment is guaranteed.Director: Roland EmmerichCast: John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Woody Harrelson, Danny GloverFun Stuff: In an interview by USA Today, Roland Emmerich has stated that this will be his final disaster film: “I said to myself that I’ll do one more disaster movie, but it has to end all disaster movies. So I packed everything in.”IMDb Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190080/Leave a ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website ΔThis site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
