Inhale [2010] Movie Review Recommendation

Inhale [2010]

This movie turned out surprisingly good compared to the premise that it’s based on. I mean, come on, they had three tag lines and they managed to make an interesting thriller out of them (dying child, desperate parents, illegal organs from Mexico) you gotta give them credit for that. In the light of this fact, Inhale seems a bit incoherent with some segments of it unexplained or overlooked, but the main story checks out and it stays pretty exciting. I think that this all related an excellent director Baltasar Kormákur, who managed to make lemonade with some pretty stale lemons.

While normal people go to Mexico for drugs, women and perverted donkey shows, attorney Paul Stanton goes for the lungs, children lungs. His dying daughter is in desperate need of one pair, and they as parents decide to do whatever it takes to provide them for her. When Paul hears that you get whatever you want in Mexico he decides to risk his career, prison time and many more things in an effort to save his daughter. I think that they could have done this part much better. It seems that he just got up and went to Mexico and pretty much improvised his entire quest along the way. Some amount of carelessness of the character can be explained with desperation and deadline closing in, but still they should have made him a bit smarter. There is a strong moral element in the movie, that is almost bordering with preachy, so beware, but all in all a pretty interesting flick with a nice and experienced crew of actors. Enjoy.
