The Lincoln Lawyer [2011] Movie Review Recommendation

The Lincoln Lawyer [2011]

When I saw the poster for this movie with Mr. Matthew McConaughey in a lead role I figured that it will be another random boring flick, but seeing it’s based on a book, I decided to check it out. And it was a surprisingly good thriller, although the title is not much connected to the story and I think that they should have changed it. The acting was quite good, although both Matthew and Ryan Phillippe are considered to be dumb, pretty guys, they proved over and over again that they do not deserve that title. Of course, big budget and good directing played a great role here too. This movie is more focused on the characters and exciting story with a lot of suspense, so do not expect a lot of action, but more of the who/done/it vibe.

Mick Haller is a sleazy but charming lawyer, defending everyone, from biker gangs to murderers, and when a rich family asks specifically for him in an attempted rape case, he will see only an opportunity to make some money. Louis Roulet supposedly raped a prostitute, and everything seems to point that her story is fabricated to milk rich Louis for money, but Mick will soon start to suspect that there is more than meets the eye in this case. Hiring his private investigator (William H. Macy) he will try to get to the bottom of this case, and try to stay alive in the process. Enjoy.
