Jack Reacher Thriller Based on a book by Lee Child, Jack Reacher is a pretty straightforward flick, with good structure, goals and everything else. It reminds me of those really good TV movies from the eighties, where everything is done by the book. Whenever you see movie named after its lead character, you pretty much know that it’s going to be a one man show, with a couple of side characters, there just to show us how cool Jack Reacher is… For these roles you get actors at the apex of their career and while Tom is a huge star, he just seemed a bit off, a bit too quirky (and short :P). Jack Reacher is one of those army-normal people hybrids, where the main plot is connected to the army, but still the entire movie is set in the “real world”. They had their turn about 7-8 years ago, when it was popular to make movies about army investigations and training… After a brutal mass murder, police are looking for a sniper that gunned down a five random people. Soon they find the suspect, and accidentally he winds up in hospital all beaten up. The only words he is able to convey to his prosecutors are Get Jack Reacher. Jack is a former Army Criminal Investigator, and he always gets his man, no matter what. While the police found a tone of evidence that points to our suspect in the hospital, it all seems too neath for Jack Reacher, so he decides to do a little investigating on his own. But instead of answers he just gets stuck with more and more questions… Will he find his guy, or he has him already is up to you to find out. Two things I enjoyed immensely in this movie, its relatively medium tempo that enables you to plot your own theories while you are watching and the sniping part. There is just something mystical about snipers, as you already know since there have been so many movies featuring this particular branch of the military. The Pink Mist. Jack Reacher is an old school movie with a firm 8 on the scale from 1 to 10, and it will entertain almost anyone, so it’s a sure thing for a movie night, enjoy… Director: Christopher McQuarrie Writer: Christopher McQuarrie Cast: Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, Robert Duvall, Michael Raymond-James Fun Facts: The character Jack Reacher from Lee Child’s book series is described as 6’5″ tall and weighing between 210 and 250 pounds Rating: IMDb Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790724 Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
